Praised for his “careful shadings of color, rhythmic precision and resounding sense of character” (Boston Classical Review), American pianist Alexander Crosett has performed throughout the United States and in Canada, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, and Japan. He has been featured at Steinway Hall Manhattan; Merkin Hall; Muramatsu Hall in Osaka; the Goethe-Institut Boston; the Euro Arts Festival in Leipzig; the Amalfi Coast Festival; IPF Madrid and Paris; Orford Musique in Quebec; Riverdale Society of Ethical Culture; the University of Virginia; Interlochen Center for the Arts; Lander University Artist Recital Series; and Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Centre. His performances have also been broadcast on television and National Public Radio.

Crosett’s album project American Excursions has been recognized with awards from Berklee and the American Music Project for its inclusive approach to programming. Featuring polystylistic contemporary repertoire from composers of diverse backgrounds, the album and concert tour seek to expand the canon of American classical piano music.

Crosett currently serves as an assistant professor at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where he teaches piano skills. He previously held teaching positions at Manhattan School of Music, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Bloomingdale School of Music, Kennesaw State University, and the University of Georgia Hugh Hodgson School of Music. Students of his have won prizes at regional, national, and international competitions, matriculated to prestigious music institutions, and pursued careers in both performance and education.

Crosett won the Silver Medal at the 2018 Osaka International Music Competition in Japan. He received his MM in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music as a student of André-Michel Schub and DMA from the University of Georgia under Evgeny Rivkin. He also studied with Jacques Rouvier at Centre d’Arts Orford and Eteri Andjaparidze in New York, and participated in masterclasses with Aldo Ciccolini, Ann Schein, Ian Hobson, John Perry, Olga Kern, Peter Frankl, and Solomon Mikowsky.

Crosett has been invited to present lectures and workshops at the Music Teachers National Association National Conference; the College Music Society National, Northeastern, and Mid-Atlantic Conferences; and the Hawaii International Conference on Arts and Humanities.

Crosett is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in Piano, a Steinway Educational Partner, and maintains an award-winning private studio in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
